A record field of over 6,850 at the starting line for the 28th annual Crim 10-mile road race today in downtown Flint, Mich. The total for all nine events that make up the Crim Festival of Races was 13,347 at the close of Friday night registration. Weather delayed the start by 30 minutes. This was the first year the downtown's new arches - recreations of the metal spans that originally stood from 1899-1919.for the Crim that the arches spanned Saginaw St. (Date shot: 8/28/04) (THE FLINT JOURNAL / STEVE JESSMORE)
